Grape Art

Craft creates wine, wine creates art. It’s the Grape Expression.

Wine and art go way back to the Ancient Greece with God Dionysus. And you can tell we have our own style. It’s about the power of freedom of creation.

The thing is we can get creative with the winemaking, but when it comes to the bottle labels, we let our natural wines inspire others to create.

Over the last 5 years, we’ve had the privilege of working with so many talented artists who’ve made our small editions unique. Each one has a major place in our story.

Binau

Street artist from Lisbon whose punk and irreverent style has influenced APRT3 and allowed us to make a notorious break into the market with our first edition ever. Much of Binau’s artwork is Pastiche, a form of appropriation of other artists’ pieces, painting over other paintings and unexpected objects.

We collaborated with Binau later to bring Monda Red’s first edition to life, mixing fluorescent colours and dark humour.

Cara Trancada

As an erotic artist based in Almada that uses her creations to promote a very feminine and activist message, Cara Trancada’s artwork was perfect to set the mood for our first harvest. Together we collaborated on labels that are still being sold.

It was our first year, the seminal harvest. We wanted to convey life, genesis, the seed that generates a being.

Fiumani

Italian artist with a very disruptive style living in Portugal. His artwork revolves around using garbage to create new symbols and forms. Since day 1, we’ve been focused on sustainability, creating wines with our hands and as little technology as possible – and Fiumani showed us how we could show our rawest side with his illustrations.

Fiumani built a whole interpretation about our process and recreated the classic Latin expression as the definition of our style: In Vino Disorder.

Arthur Voss

The man behind Mike Tazem’s image – Mike Tazem as in Vila Nova de Tazem and Mike Tyson put together, yes (they sound pretty similar in Portuguese… Should we reconsider some life decisions?). Voss is a tattoo artist, illustrator, living between Portugal and Germany. His creations always carry a caustic and nasty humour.

He signed Zorro, a limited edition of the Trás-os-Montes’ Bastardo grape, with a label exclusively written in English and in Mirandês – Portugal’s second official language on the verge of extinction, spoken only in a small region.

Paulo Rocha X Stereossauro X Bruno Brandão

So far, InteGraal was our most multidimensional project. Paulo Rocha produced and hand-painted 650 ceramic pieces, while Bruno Brandão created the launch video, and Stereossauro pitched in with the soundtrack.

Paulo Rocha is the ceramist (Azulcer) who helped us create a distinct tile label, something never seen before, one by one.

More about Paulo Rocha

Bruno Brandão has been with us in many harvests’ footage and documentaries. For this project, his role was to connect the different crafts through video.

Stereossauro is one of the most renowned musicians in the Portuguese Hip-Hop scene. Inspired by the ceramic patterns, he was able to produce a rich composition that takes us to the sounds of Fado but also to the Arab influence on the Iberian Peninsula – just like the tiles’ graphics.

Ciano

The collaboration with Ciano started in the 2022 harvest, when Mariana and her friends came to help us pick our grapes and we ended up brainstorming about future releases.

We wanted something different, very specific illustrations for two wines with strong concepts. The way she deconstructed the initial idea was genius and the design work was flawless, exceeding all our expectations (and they were already high!).
